Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Since David Roller Founded the Company in 1976.
What is your primary product or service?
Auctions and Appraisals for a wide range of clients.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
When Dave Roller started up Roller Auctioneers 35 years ago, the trained
aeronautical engineer set out to engineer a better auction experience. Roller
loved the unpredictability and adventure that comes with the live auction. But, he
believed he could bring something new to Denver’s auction industry that would
make both buyers and sellers happier.
Where the industry has traditionally been loosely structured and inconsistent,
Roller brought organization, process and business best practices.
And where the auction business often gets a black eye from misleading claims,
hidden terms, and broken promises, Roller insists on transparency, fairness and
respect. He built the business by assembling a team of likeminded individuals
and instilling a culture built on those bedrock values.
Roller Auctioneers has offered Denver consignors and bidders a unique package
– sophisticated enough to handle large-scale construction, commercial and
industrial auctions, but with the level of personal service and flexibility of a local,
independent company.
