Started in 1912 by a few friends who enjoyed hiking together, the CMC now has 8,000 members who enjoy hiking, climbing, snowshoeing, skiing, fishing and other activities in the mountains. We also teach our members how to do all those things, and are a field trip destination educating thousands of school children every year. We're a partner in the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum, and are actively involved in the conservation of our quickly changing mountain environment. We invite all lovers of the mountains to join us!
